Linux MediaMVP

29 January 2005

Introduction

The Hauppauge MediaMVP is a small home entertainment appliance allowing you to play your digital media (music, videos, pictures and Internet radio) from your PC to your TV set and home sound system. The system has to main components: Server and MediaMVP Player. The Server is usually your home PC running Hauppauge software and the MediaMVP Player connected to your TV set. Both devices are connected to your home network or by using crossover CAT5 cable. Go to the Hauppauge site for more information.

Goals

The main goal of this project is to create Linux Media Server to replace original Hauppauge MediaMVP software running on Windows PC. The main reason is that I don't want to maintain Windows base server at home. The secondary goals are:

-          Improve the user interface

-          Extend standard functionality of MediaMVP
